When I heard this song for the first time, it was the early seventies and I was probably 9-10. I thought for many years, until I grew much older and wiser with much broader horizons(at the age of 13)that "The Monkees" were actually the group that sang this song, because it just sort of sounded like something they would've done. OHHHHHHHH.....THE SHAME.......
